Summer couldn’t be more enjoyable than going to the beach or frolicking in the swimming pool with your friends. And Sony wants you to enjoy the sun even more with its upcoming waterproof phone, Xperia ZR.

The new smartphone from Sony Mobile allows users to capture high definition videos up to a depth of 1.5 meters (5 feet) underwater thanks to its Exmore RS image sensor. Other specs of the phone is also noteworthy to jot down including its 4.6-inch, 720p touchscreen display, quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB onboard RAM, 13MP rear camera with a dedicated camera button similar to Xperia ZL, WiFi, NFC support, Bluetooth and 4G LTE support.

In addition, it is powered by Android OS and features Battery STAMINA Mode which automatically shuts down apps when the screen is off thereby improving overall battery length in standby. The display panel utilizes the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 – similar to Bravia HDTVs – and OptiContrast panel for quality viewing experience even when using the phone on a bright sunny day.
