In an effort to rid companies of email outage problems, Google has now introduced a new service developed by the Postini team which which backs up email accounts hosted on Microsoft Exchange Servers in the cloud, using Gmail, Calendar and Contacts.

Dubbed Google Message Continuity, the service will constantly synchronize the Microsoft Exchange data with Gmail to ensure that, in case the Exchange Server is down, for whatever reason, an enterprise will still have access to all emails. Moreover, it will make transitioning to Google Apps smoother.

Google Message Continuity costs $25 per user per year for new customers or an additional $13 per user per year for current Postini customers.
