Seoul Motor Show is only days away, Hyundai is preparing its new HND-9 coupe concept which is to become a sort of inspiration for its future vehicles including the next-gen Genesis.

The car’s design is said to be a reinterpretation of the classic sports concept with its Lambo-style doors, mean-looking taillights, a fastback-esque rear design, as well as the back’s dual exhaust system. The engine that powers the car and spits out 365 BHP is the 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 GDI, while the transmission is an eight-speed automatic but these specs require confirmation. The HND-9 is on top of the recent releases made by the company such as the HCD-14 sedan last January and the Veloster C3 hatchback last November.

The company’s R&D Centre located in Namyang, Korea is the car’s designer which takes note of the hexagonal grille and the “fluidic sculpture” aesthetics but emphasizing the sporting image through pronounced character lines. It’s like the US-only Hyundai Genesis because of the rear-drive coupe. The premium coupe concept is expected to influence the conceptualization of two-door flagship in the near future. No specific details on specs are provided yet and the motor show is expected to fill in the info in a surprise twist of fate.
