Microsoft has issued a new security advisory to detail a vulnerability in the Windows Graphics Rendering Engine that would allow an attacker to run arbitrary code on a user’s PC. The bug affects Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 but Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 are safe.

According to Microsoft there aren’t any known attack that exploit the flaw but just to be sure, it has provided a few workarounds (found in the advisory ) to help people stay safe until an official fix (which is currently in the works) is provided.
