ViewSonic launches multi-touch monitor

ViewSonic today announced the US release of two touch-enabled products, that of the VX2258wm 21.5-inch monitor and of the VPC220T all-in-one PC. Both products target businesses and consumers and promise to deliver a full multi-touch experience.

The VX2258wm costs $339 and features native a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio (100,000:1 DCR), a typical brightness of 200 cd/m2, D-Sub, DVI and USB ports, 3.5mm audio in/out, two 2W speakers and a stand enabling height adjustment tilt and swivel.

As for the VPC220T all-in-one, it has an estimated price tag of $1,049, has an LED-backlit 21.5-inch Full HD panel, and packs a 3.06 GHz Pentium E6600 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD writer, a GeForce 310M graphics card, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a 4-in-1 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, two 3W speakers and a HDMI output.

The VX2258wm is backed by a three-year warranty, while the VPC220T comes with a one-year warranty.
