Archos has been playing in the tablet field since the start of the tablets’ rise to popularity. This French company has some of the best, affordable tablets around, a claim that will soon be solidified by the pending release of its new 101 XS Android 4.0 tablet.
Archos has come up with an impressively designed tablet that’s also one of the slimmest in the market. Aside from the 8mm tablet, the 101 XS also boasts of its specially designed Coverboard, which is a cross between a cover and keyboard. The cover is just 5mm thick, making it thicker than the new iPad 3 by just 1mm. This new tablet has 10-inch display, dual-core TI OMAP-4470 processor, Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 16GB of internal storage that’s microSD expandable, 1 GB RAM, a 1.3-megapixel, 720p webcam and a display quality of 1280 x 800. Apart from these specs, a compelling attraction of the 101 XS is the Coverboard’s full QWERTY layout and back, home and recently open buttons for easy navigating. For those who want to get their hands on this highly productive tablet, the Archos 101 XS is slated to be released this November for only $400 (BHD 152), a great buy when you take into account its features, the full keyboard and the bundled copy of OfficeSuite Pro that comes with it.
