EA and Visceral announced yesterday that the open beta for Battlefield Hardline would start next week on February 3 and would end 5 days later on February 8. The open beta is available during this period on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
However, if you haven’t been following the news about Battlefield Hardline or never registered for the beta before, then here are some tips that will help you get into the game quicker and easier.
First of all, anyone can participate in the beta assuming they have a console or a PC capable of running the game. Although Visceral did not publish the hardware requirements for the game, it said that if you’ve been able to play Battlefield 4 on your PC, then you should have no trouble running Battlefield Hardline.
Because this is an open beta, you don’t need to register. If you plan on playing it on PC, then head over Origin and you will find Battlefield Hardline beta available for download from Monday, February 2, 10am PST. This means that you will be able to pre-load the game, but you won’t be able to play it until the next day.
Those who will play Battlefield Hardline on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will have to download between 10-11 GB of data, while Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players will only need to download 4 GB.
You can pre-load the beta on PC, but not on consoles
A pre-load for consoles will not be available, just for the PC. The exact hour when the beta will be available for download will be announced soon.
Keep in mind that none of your stats and progression will be carried over to the main game. If you’re wondering what you’ll be able to play, here are all the details offered by Visceral.
The open beta will allow gamers to play Conquest on the map Dust Bowl, Hotwire mode on the maps Downtown and Dust Bowl, as well as the Heist mode on the map Bank Job.
The game will support 64 players on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Conquest mode, and 32 players on Hotwire and Heist. On PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 each modes available will only support 24 players.
On a side note, Visceral announced that Battlefield Hardline open beta would be available in Japan between February 4-8 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
