Blackberry Bold 9790 ignites chaos

A 50% discount on the just-launched BlackBerry Bold 9790 had mall shoppers fight each other in Jakarta, Indonesia. Reportedly, as many as 90 people were injured after shoppers fell out of line and into a disorderly crowd when word came out that the retailer selling the device wouldn’t have enough units to satisfy demand. Three people needed to be hospitalized for broken bones and more than 200 police officers and mall security officials were required to restore peace.
