After hearing nothing major about Evi for months, today I was greeted by a new software update to the application that was once considered Siri’s rival.
While it does compete with Apple’s voice-powered assistant, Evi is limited in functionality, but it does provide more accurate answers at times.
True Knowledge, its creators, say, “Unlike a search engine, which simply looks for matching words and shows you a list of websites, Evi understands what you want to know and gives back exactly what you need in order to get stuff done.”
Version 1.2.3 reportedly brings speed improvements which enable Evi to “deliver her answers faster than ever.” Those answers are also richer in appearance following the 1.2.3 update, with True Knowledge touting a new look for local queries, maps, people, and time.
Finally, the new version includes several (unnamed) bug fixes. Evi is free to download and use without in-app purchases.
