The Google TV project, which launched in the US this month, is reported to have been entrusted to the YouTube division not that long ago, in an effort to make it more appealing to content owners and ultimately, to customers.
Media companies haven’t really been enthusiastic about Google TV, with the likes of ABC, CBS and NBC actually blocking their content from running on Google’s solution, but things could be changed by the YouTube team who has a lot of experience with copyright holders. Overall, it’s all about the money and YouTube’s management knows how to negotiate content deals so there’s hope for Google TV.
