He acquired a pit bull puppy in the finale of John Wick.
And it appears that lucky dog will be making a cameo in the sequel.
On Monday, Keanu Reeves, 51, took a breather from the non-stop action of John Wick 2 to film a scene with a pit bull in New York City’s Central Park.
The actor was dressed in his character’s signature dark grey suit as he leisurely strolled with the dog through Bethesda Terrace.
Keanu stood out from the casual crowd thanks to his facial wounds, which consisted of bloody scrapes and cuts streaked across his cheeks and forehead.
While the actor’s injuries went unnoticed by passerby, his dog did catch the eye of one comical mime.
The mime enthusiastically gestured towards the husky dog, but neither Keanu or the canine directed their attention to him.
John Wick 2 is the sequel to the 2014 hit – which grossed $130.9 million worldwide – and is due for release sometime in 2016.
The film also stars Bridget Moynahan, Ruby Rose and Peter Stormare.
The plot details for the second installment have been kept under wraps but the first flick followed the legendary assassin coming out of retirement to seek revenge on a group of gangsters who took away some of his prized possessions.
Aussie beauty Rose, 29, is thought to be playing a crime boss in the flick but details of her role have not yet been confirmed.
Ian McShane is also set to return for the second part as Winston, the owner of the Continental Hotel, a safe haven where assassins can stay under the strict rule they not conduct business on the premises.
Meanwhile rapper Common has joined the cast as the head of security for a female crime boss – assumed to be played by Rose.
Production, which began in October, will reportedly move to Rome in the new year.
