Jumio’s Netswipe Webcam Credit Card Reader has been tagged as the more secure way of making payment online with the use of video streaming.
It scans the card’s front face before CVV code is manually entered in the interface for real-time verification. This is in lieu of the standard input forms and the swipe process used in in-store point of sale (POS) transactions. And it prevents website spoofing, credit card fraud, online theft and unauthorized mobile payments. Jumio is an online payment company based in California and in headed by Daniel Mattes. Online merchants’ sales are expected to rise dramatically with the expected consumers’ heightened confidence in online payment security.
The reader uses a webcam to read and recognize credit card details via videostreaming and then verified real-time to consummate the online payment mechanism. This ensures security of the transaction because no details including images are stored by the system that can be used for fraudulent means. There are three versions to choose from, the Netswipe Start, Netswipe Scanning and Netswipe Processing. The company is confident that it has addressed both the security and user experience issues affecting online payment processing.
