Viewsonic Viewpad 10Pro: Release This Month

10-inch Android tablets are normal in the industry today, and there’s no way to differentiate it from the rest aside from its hardware specs. Well, with the case of Viewpad 10Pro, you can separate it from the crowd by remembering it can run Windows 7 or Android via its virtualization technology.

ViewSonic announced its Specs officially, 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor – one of the first of its kind – promising less power consumption for improved battery life. Its 10.1-inch capacitive display with 1024 x 600 resolution lets you watch full HD (1080p) videos and multitouch capability for better navigation. Other goodies include 2GB integrated memory with expandable microSD slot, 1.3MP front-facing camera, HDMI port for wireless media streaming; WiFi & Bluetooth support and the company claims it can last up to eight hours.

Last but not the least, 10Pro lets you run Windows 7 or Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) via Bluestack’s virtualization layer. You can buy the device with Windows on its primary plus 32GB SSD hard drive for a price of $699; or a cheaper option of Windows 7 Home Premium with 16GB SSD at $599 (BHD 225) – both models are dual-bootable with Android 2.3. There’s also an optional docking accessory sold at $59 (BHD 23). Expected release date announced is end of August 2011.
